The Breast Center of Acadiana combines state-of-the-art equipment with a highly trained staff to provide women with comprehensive breast diagnostic services. Our range of imaging and diagnostic services includes digital mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI and stereotactic breast biopsy. Mammography is considered the standard, nationally accepted screening procedure for routine breast imaging. After review of the screening mammogram, Dr. Mathews will determine if other imaging procedures will be necessary to provide more information should he identify an area of concern. Patients who present with a breast issue (lump, discharge) will be thoroughly evaluated to determine the best imaging approach to accomplish an accurate diagnosis. Special care is taken to explain protocols and processes to patients before they undergo any procedure at the Breast Center.
